Email Fixup
I just had a challenging email issue where a woman brought in her iPad and because of recent changes to her Eastlink email account, was unable to send or receive email. I researched what the necessary configuration should be, and was somewhat confused to find that all of her settings seemed to be correct. We scratched our heads for awhile and were on the verge of calling Eastlink tech support, when I discovered that there were two separate account configurations for the same email address. One account actually just had the wrong password, whereas the other one had the correct incoming mail settings, but the outgoing server settings were misconfigured. I decided to remove all Mail accounts and just start from scratch, which did the trick just as the hour was up! She left with a smile on her face, and didn't even have to curse at a tech-support representative!
