Challenge - Expressions & Sayings

The other day I was travelling with a friend who hails from New Brunswick and in the conversation with this person she expressed two sayings that I had never heard before: "Side by each" which when she said it I knew it for "side by side" and then "door yard". This one took me a few minutes and indeed I had to ask what she meant, she referred to looking out the door at the yard, hence "backyard!"

I wonder over the course of next week how many expressions and sayings we can collect at our C@P sites. Be inventive and get users, staff, family and friends to participate. Get them to write it down with a brief explanation and where they are from and/or where the expression or saying came from.

Let's have some fun with this - I am sure that we will all learn some new expressions and sayings!
