Success Story

This week at the VANSDA Kentville office it has been slow. Part of the week I was at the Windsor office assisting with the business camp.

Camp Overview
The camp is called Business is Jammin' and there are different camps put on throughout the summer for different age groups ranging from 8-18. The campers learn about entrepreneurship and how to run their own business. They are able to take a loan (provided by the camp) to assist with the purchasing of their materials in order to get their business running. Their main objective is to be able to pay off their loan and earn a profit. Campers will sell anything from, candy bags, pop, hot dogs, jewelry, baked goods etc.

Thursday the campers ran their business for a day, and were all able to pay off their loan and make a profit! It was a huge success for all of them. Even the most shy camper was able to come out of their shell and face the public to sell their products. It was a fun day and exciting to see the campers learn so much.
