Why having a c@p summer position is important to me

Having a c@p position this summer is important to me because it's a way to get involved in a different side of education. I love that c@p allows me the opportunity to work with, and help others in the library with their computer literacy. As well as just helping with simple tasks. I think this position is as much for me, and my own learning as well as those who I will have the opportunity to assist. It's a pleasure to be here and be a part of the community.

Today I had my first customer. I opened myself up for tutorials but no one booked. However, a woman came in who was initially quite timid to simply ask if I would be so kind as to help her get on Facebook. She had a Hotmail account, and a Facebook account but couldn't remember how to log on. She said she had gone elsewhere to ask for help and was dismissed. Now, she is happily catching up with friends and excited to see many people on Facebook that she knows! Great start to my morning! :)
