I did my project on VANSDA (Valley African Nova Scotia Development Association). I already knew a lot about the organization just from working here for the past two years. As a not-for-profit organization they help community members go back to school and find work. I think this is a valuable resource to have in any community.
I learned that they have been around for 13 years and everyday I am learning something new about the programs they offer and projects they are involved in. Recently they just launched the START program which is very similar to the Wage Subsidy program. This program helps employers find qualified workers and help those in the community get the experience or apprenticeship training they need.
