Success with Time and Perseverance !
A lady and her son came into the cap site yesterday. The lady wanted help with recovering her email account. After not using her email since the winter she forgot what her password was. They did not have a computer at home and needed to get a hold of money sent to her email account. Once we start the recovery process for the account problems started. She did not have a backup email address or cell phone to easily send a recovery code to. Then we tried a recovery request. For this she had to fill out a tone of question to prove she was the owner, many of which she could not remember. After, making some mistakes and failing the first few time we got an error message saying we have to wait 24 hours before trying again. We then tried having a code sent to her home number, which meant she had to drive all the way home and then back to the C@P site. This also, failed. We thought the code may have timed out. So, we tried again, but faster. She drove all the way home again and back again quickly. No success. We thought this might be because of the 24 hour restriction, so she decided to wait 24 hours. Today she came back again. First we tried filling in the information request again. Success! She was able to rest her password. She was so happy to finally get it working.
As she was leaving she mention how hard it was for her to find a computer. She was very happy that she now knew about the cap site. They said that they will be back again tomorrow.
It's great when we can help someone out and goes to show the importance of CAP site in rural Nova Scotia. Super job!
