Capturing C@P Success Story
A lady has been coming into the c@p site off and on for the last couple of weeks. The lady always goes straight to the computer looking like pro. I found out from observation she is a very slow typer but loves to search the web and look at horses. Throughout the day of Tuesday July 2nd the lady had come in three separate times. Throughout or discussions about day to day activities she brings up a question. "I don't know much about computers but I want to buy one." "Do you know how to use them and which one I should buy?" With a little chuckle in my head I was eager to help this lady. We talked about her preferences and what she would use a computer for. Together we found out that a laptop was best for her traveling personality. I recommended her to look and shop around for a model that best fits her. I suggested Staples or Future Shop for a wide variety of options, models and helpful assistance at those locations. I explained about WI-FI networks and were they can be found around towns because she doesn't want internet in her home. I told the lady my hours of work and that I will be here 9am- 5pm Mon-Fri for her assistance. I told her if she was interested in learning about the web or how to use the technology I would be more than happy to help. The lady was very grateful that I could help her understand about computers and said she will have to take me up on those one on ones. I was happy I could help someone in my community feel better about their understandings of technology.
