3, 2, 1... GO!

Well then.. Planning and scheduling certainly isn't easy. It's been a lot of work trying to get the upcoming months figured out, especially having to juggle some of July's hours around between two locations. Additionally, I have started doing 1-on-1 tutorials, and I only expect that I will get busier with those as time goes on. Once this happens, I'm sure myself and anyone in similar shoes will truly realize the importance of efficient time management. From my experience, balancing a fully booked schedule of 1-on-1's alongside workshop preparation and delivery isn't the easiest thing in the world. Make sure you use your administrative time wisely or you might find yourself in a panic when workshop 'crunch time' rolls around.

Orientation was fun! It was especially nice to be able to meet other C@P Youth Interns and throw around some ideas. Having a team-based approach to removes a lot of stress and uncertainty that I felt last Winter as a  C@P newbie.

I have my first 1-on-1 session in Port Williams in a half-hour. I am particularly excited for this one, as it is with someone who I worked with regularly during my last work-term. As my contract with the library was coming to a close, I was pleased to see that she went out and made her first computer purchase, and our last few sessions were focused on setting up her new PC and getting her comfortable with Windows 7. I'll be happy to pick up where we left off, and hopefully resolve some issues that she has experienced since we said our goodbyes last March.

I'm sure this will be a future success story for the blog :)

Wish me luck!
