Put on your Thinking “C@P” Please

Next week, I am going to be undertaking three Teach Debbie sessions with Ally, Ronni and Sam.  These sessions are on filming a documentary, creating a commercial and a radio ad.

Chubb (my dog) and I were working on this yesterday, and we both thought why not ask the Youth Interns for their help.

So, I am asking for your assistance in coming up with some catchy, creative and awesome ideas by end of day Monday (August 20th) to use in each of these sessions.  It could be a jingle or two; promotional line or phrases; pictures/videos related to C@P; whatever your imagination can come up with – well, I should clarify that - within reason and doable in a very short time frame! LOL

Please post your idea(s) by selecting comment below.

Thanks everyone and I look forward to your posts.

  1. For all (Teach Debbie How To)they are focusing on C@p. So Why not for the (filming a documentary)You show the history of c@p from the first time it was established to now. What has changed? How many c@p site are still left from the starting number etc. (Creating a commercial) Maybe show a day in the life of working in a c@p site. Make it inviting to kids as well as parents and seniors to want to attend to a c@p site.(Radio Ad) A quick jingle or something or short message reminding people about c@p. On the Nova Scotia C@p website the line is: Building Stronger Communities through Technology. So maybe having the message on radio will get people interested.

  2. I've been working on my own little side project in making a commercial. I haven't finished it yet, but I will be outlining the basics of C@P, where to find the C@P sites, what is offered... oh, and I'm hand drawing all of it!

  3. I think for the 'creating a commercial' session that we're doing, it would be useful to include photos or short clips of the CAP site in use. It demonstrates how valuable the sites are when people can see for themselves how frequently they are being visited/used. I might try to capture an image or clip in the next day or 2 for us to use if I can get photo releases signed :)

P.S. Meaghan, that hand-drawn commercial sounds pretty awesome!

    1. I have some current images that I will bring with me for our session. However, the more we have the better.

  4. So many great ideas already!! I definitely agree with showing the history of C@P. I wonder if we would be able to further promote C@P and get funding back by showing how useful it is. I think we're needed more than ever now with technology always changing, and people are always wanting to learn and adapt with what is coming our way.
I think that using testimonials from happy c@P customers, or pictures from tutorials and sessions are helpful. Examples of services offered, and do what we can to take any intimidation away from coming in to ask for help. I think creating a commercial is a fantastic idea to present that and really like the idea of like, a day at a C@P site, so they kind of see what it looks like. Maybe do a mock tutorial for the documentary?

  5. Another really, really cool idea.. but I think way more time would be needed would be to do like.. a C@P-esque "Songs in real life" video. If you haven't seen videos like that, youtube that business, great for a laugh, and could be quite effective.
